Previously the site was a car showroom, petrol station and workshop, parts of which were demolished and the remaining structure was then extended to create a large shop area, car park and new petrol station. There were many obstacles to cross during the construction process, ground contamination being the most challenging. We worked closely with Marks & Spencer’s and Sandpiper’s project managers to coordinate the specialist fit out subcontractors associated with this sort of retail establishment, including complicated mechanical and electrical elements. The contract was completed to a very high standard and within the client’s time frame, in order to get the retail area up and operational as soon as possible.
